MLB Accused of having manipulated balls
Another scandal has emerged in Major League Baseball, with a number of pitchers accused of manipulating balls to improve their performance.
Brian ‘Bubba’ Harkins, who was sacked last march for providing illegal substances to Los Angeles Angels players, has decided to file a libel lawsuit and has accused a number of players of using resin and pine tar to alter playing balls.
The former coach highlighted a list of players, including Troy Percival, Brendan Donnelly, Tyler Chatwood, Kevin Jepsen, Cam Bedrosian, Keynan Middleton, Yusmeiro Petit, Luke Bard, Matt Andiese, Dylan Peters, Jose Suarez, and Dylan Bundy.
Harkins also claimed that MLB have evidence that Gerrit Cole, Justin Verlander, Max Scherzer, Felix Hernandez, Corey Kluber and Adam Wainwright have also used the substance.
His lawsuit included a message from Cole, during 2019, in which he asked for help with a “difficult situation”.
