Aguero cannot catch a break: After overcoming injury, he's forced to self-isolate

Sergio Aguero‘s recent bad luck continued this weekend as he was unable to play for Manchester City in their FA Cup tie against Birmingham City.

The Argentine international was due to start the game – something he hasn’t done since October because of a series of injury problems.

However, Pep Guardiola confirmed after the 3-0 win that Aguero had been forced to self-isolate after a close contact tested positive for COVID-19.

It’s the latest setback for the striker, who has made just nine appearances for City this season, scoring two goals.

The 32-year-old has played 260 minutes of club football so far this campaign and is yet to complete 90 minutes in any match.

Aguero is currently free to talk to other clubs about a free transfer in the summer, with his contract at City set to in June.

In his nine-and-a-half years in England, he’s become a legend at City and is the club’s all-time leading goalscorer.
