The Brazilian FA have confirmed that left-back Alex Telles will travel with the squad to face Uruguay after testing negative for COVID-19.

The Manchester United man’s health has been up in the air over the last few days. He tested positive for the virus a few weeks ago and returned to action following a negative test, only to test positive again earlier this week.

United openly questioned the result of the test and admitted they were keeping a close eye on things, and they will be relieved to see that Telles has since tested negative and is therefore in contention for Brazil’s meeting with Uruguay on Tuesday.

Brazil confirmed on their official website that Telles is likely still carrying an incredibly weak form of the virus which stems from his initial positive test, but he can still continue to play as it is no longer contagious.

For United, it means that initial fears Telles may miss Saturday’s visit of West Bromwich Albion can be put to bed. As it stands, he will be ready to play for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.

However, while concerns over Telles are over, there are fresh worries about France forward Anthony Martial.

As noted by RMC Sport’s Loic Tanzi, Martial has been complaining of a problem with his back, and it was decided that he should train alone on Monday instead of with the rest of the group.

It’s not thought to be anything particularly serious, and the fact that he’s still doing some form of training suggests that nobody is overly worried about Martial’s fitness, but there will still be a few nervous faces around Old Trafford.

It’s been a stop-start season for Martial, who returned from a three-game suspension to start in the 3-1 win over Everton before the international break.

The 24-year-old is still waiting for his first Premier League goal of the season, although he has already netted twice in the Champions League against RB Leipzig and Istanbul Basaksehir.
