Premier League Could start in FA Cup
Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti has admitted that James Rodriguez is out of form, but is hopeful he can reach the heights of the start of the season soon.
James bagged three goals and three assists in the first five matches of the season as Everton topped the Premier League standings, but injuries and fitness issues have since stalled his impact on Merseyside.
“James has been training normally,” Ancelotti said ahead of Everton‘s FA Cup match with Rotherham on Saturday. “And has been showing good signs.
“It’s true that he isn’t in his best form, so it will be good for him to play tomorrow. He is close to reaching his best level. I’m sure that with his return our attack will improve.”
With England being plunged back into lockdown, Ancelotti feels safe and that the club are follow the relevant protocol.
“I think that football has to continue,” Ancelotti said. “In this particular period it’s really important for the community to have football on the TV to watch.
“I think football can be really helpful in this period. I feel safe, honestly yes. Outside the bubble it’s more difficult.”
