FC Barcelona – La Liga Happy he is contributing
Ronald Araujo is confident that Barcelona can still compete for the LaLiga Santander title, despite their disappointing first half of the season.
The Blaugrana have lost four matches and have drawn another four, as they currently sit fourth in the table, 10 points behind leaders Atletico Madrid, who have one game in hand.
“The squad that we have is very good, it’s a good group,” Araujo told Barcelona‘s official media.
“Since my arrival they have helped me. We are committing mistakes that we should not commit.
“The defenders talk a lot between ourselves and with the coach [Ronald Koeman], and by working hard we know the results will come. We will put up a fight in LaLiga [Santander].”
Araujo has broken into Barcelona‘s starting line-up after Gerard Pique‘s lengthy injury, and he has expressed his joy for having been given the opportunity to show off his potential.
“I am working hard to have chances and I am happy to take advantage of them and that they have confidence in me, that I can play and help the team,” Araujo added.
“A player who is playing is always happy. Things are going well but I have to keep working as there is still a lot to learn and experience to pick up.”
Barcelona missed two penalties in the Copa del Rey game against Cornella, whom they managed to beat in extra time. Araujo believes that the Blaugrana should have put the game to bed earlier.
“I have played there on many occasions and I knew it would be a difficult away game,” Araujo noted.
“We could have wrapped the game up earlier, but the main thing was to win.”
