FC Barcelona – La Liga Still using an ankle splint
There was some good news and bad news at Barcelona training on Sunday. The good news was that Gerard Pique was able to work on the pitches, but the bad news is that Ronald Araujo didn’t train and is likely to miss the Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday.
He still has the splint that was prescribed after suffering an ankle injury last weekend against Real Betis.
This means it is unlikely that he’ll be able to face the Ligue 1 champions, but Barcelona won’t know the exact state of Araujo or Pique until just closer to the match.
Even if their situations improve, Ronald Koeman isn’t likely to start both players because it would be a major problem if they both suffer an injury relapse during the match. If the coach had to pick just one, he’d probably opt for Pique after he looked good in the most recent training session.
