According to a recent report from Sunday Mirror, Aston Villa manage Dean Smith is interested in trying to sign Bournemouth star David Brooks.
The belief is that Villa will attempt to push forward with a deal for the 23-year-old during the January transfer window, and while some will suggest that they already have a really strong squad, there’s no harm in trying to improve it even further.
When the Cherries were in the Premier League, Brooks was widely considered to be one of their most exciting prospects. Now, however, that he’s down in the Championship, it can be easy for him to fly under the radar.
Villa may not be viewed as legitimate contenders to qualify for the UEFA Europa League but there’s a decent chance that could change in the next few months. With Brooks, they would be adding another hungry young talent to an already electric squad in the second city.
