LaLiga Santander Simeone’s side continue march to the title
The second Madrid derby of the season now has an official date and kick-off time, with Real Madrid‘s trip to the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano being announced for Sunday, March 7 with a 16:15 CET kick-off.
It marks a busy period in Atletico Madrid‘s calendar, with the league leaders also set to welcome Athletic Club just three days later for a match which was initially postponed on January 9.
The March 7 fixture date also contributes to a difficult run of matches for Real Madrid too, with the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie against Atalanta taking place the following week.
Atleti are also set to meet Chelsea in the Champions League in the very same week, but they will first be looking to avenge the 2-0 defeat they suffered in the first Madrid derby of the season, which still stands as Los Rojiblancos‘ only LaLiga Santander defeat of the season.
