FC Barcelona – La Liga Ahead of the summer window
A lot of business has been done between Real Betis and Barcelona over the last few transfer windows. Both clubs are set to sit down again in a few months to discuss the futures of three players: Emerson Aparecido, Juan Miranda and Junior Firpo.
Emerson, who is owned equally by both clubs, could be brought back to the Camp Nou in June for nine million euros in a move which would see Betis keep a percentage of his transfer fee. The deal could either see him play a part in Ronald Koeman‘s squad, or move on to a new club.
Miranda will return to the Camp Nou from his loan at Betis with a year left on his contract at Barcelona. Miranda, who is playing an important role in Manuel Pellegrini‘s side, will see what Barcelona have in mind for his future before making any decisions, although he does intend to stay in Andalusia.
There are two things which need to be resolved in the case of Junior Firpo. One is the remaining nine million euros which Barcelona owe Betis for his transfer a year and a half ago. There is also the sell-on fee which Betis are set to receive should Barcelona move him on in the future, with it looking unlikely that he’ll be at the Catalan club for much longer.
The financial difficulties of both clubs mean that the exits of Emerson and Junior will be decided in the coming months. The case of Miranda is more complicated as he’ll need to wait to see if Firpo is sold and then find out if he’s part of Ronald Koeman’s plans. If not, a fee will need to be negotiated for him to return to Betis.
There’s also an agreement that Barcelona would receive a percentage of any transfer fee Betis receive for Cristian Tello. The Andalusian side have no intention of selling him at the moment, however.
