Barcelona Suspended following Copa America sending-off
Lionel Messi is available to play for Argentina next month after his suspension was dropped by CONMEBOL.
The Barcelona forward had received a one-match ban after being sent off against Chile in the third-place playoff at last summer’s Copa America in Brazil.
Messi was also fined 1,500 dollars for the altercation with Gary Medel.
However, after the Argentinian Football Association (AFA) discussed the matter with CONMEBOL, the one-match ban has been dropped.
Messi will now be available for selection for both of Argentina’s World Cup qualifiers in October, which are against Ecuador and Bolivia.
