Barcelona Given the all-clear
Samuel Umtiti received his medical all-clear on Wednesday after overcoming COVID-19.
The Frenchman is expected to return to training this Wednesday afternoon, first working out individually as established by LaLiga’s protocol.
Umtiti is not part of Ronald Koeman’s plans for next season and his future lies elsewhere.
Neither the club nor the Dutchman are counting on him due to his inconsistent performances and his record of injuries.
However, his salary demands are very high and, although Lyon have stated that they are interested in signing him, they cannot afford to cover his wages.
Barcelona have not ruled out including Umtiti as a makeweight in the event they decide to move for Lyon’s forward Memphis Depay.
Meanwhile, Miralem Pjanic has also recovered from COVID-19 and he is expected to travel soon to Catalonia.
Jean-Clair Todibo, who has been also tested positive for coronavirus, is awaiting the results of his latest tests.
