Sevilla vs Barcelona – Copa del Rey Casualties leave the squad depleted
The Copa del Rey has become the priority for Barcelona, but this Wednesday the team will arrive at the Estadio Sanchez Pizjuan with a new-look bench.
The injuries are hitting the Catalan club so hard that they will face the first leg of their semi-final tie against Sevilla with a number of youth players making up the numbers.
Neto, Inaki Pena, Riqui Puig, Trincao, Matheus, Junior Firpo, Ilaix, Konrad and Alex Collado will presumably sit on the bench on Wednesday night, waiting for their opportunity.
Miralem Pjanic, Martin Braithwaite and Sergino Dest did not travel to Seville, with the Danish forward suffering from a muscle problem in right leg, Pjanic experiencing problems with his left foot and Dest to miss the game through a right thigh problem that he has been suffering for many weeks.
However, Dest should return either on Saturday at the Camp Nou against Alaves or for the Champions League first leg against PSG.
These casualties have been added to an injury list which already consisted of Ronald Araujo, Sergi Roberto, Gerard Pique, Philippe Coutinho and Ansu Fati.
