Climate change Battle to defeat global warming
Scientists from Harvard University in the United States have founded a project aimed at reversing the Earth’s global warming.
The project, named the Stratospheric Controlled Perturbation Experiment (SCoPEx), is setting out to analyse what happens if calcium carbonate dust is sprayed into the atmosphere.
Calcium carbonate, a non-toxic material, contains particles that reflect rays of light coming from the sun, thus cooling the Earth‘s atmosphere.
The project has gained the support of Bill Gates, who is funding it out of his own pocket.
There will be a test event as part of the SCoPEx programme in June, where Harvard University technicians will travel to Sweden to hold numerous launches.
