Blue dogs found in Russia: Abandoned factory may be the cause

Blue dogs have appeared in Russia and swiftly gone viral online.

The animals were photographed in the Nizhny Novgorod region, close to an abandoned factory.

It is thought that chemical residue in the area has caused their fur to take on an unusual colour.

The government has insisted on the importance of studying what happens to the dogs, saying “they have to be monitored to assess their health and find the reason for their colour. We’re in conversations about the possibility of catching them.”

There is some concern that copper sulphate may be involved, which can cause skin burning and inflammation.

The strange news is similar to a story in India in November 2017, when a group of people found blue dogs in the streets.

Then, though, the use of a dye for clothing was the reason. The animals were healthy and then cleaned up.
