Real Madrid | Transfer Market Real Madrid have contacted Rennes
With David Alaba already secured for next season, Real Madrid now turn their attention to the next item on their shopping list: Rennes midfielder Eduardo Camavinga.
Los Blancos are very keen on the 18-year-old France international and made first contact with Rennes last summer, with talks reaching an advanced stage before being put on ice thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic affecting the club’s budget.
Real Madrid want to bring in a midfield player and Camavinga, one of the hottest prospects in the game, is their top target due to his age and potential, although his performances haven’t reached last year’s levels.
In attack, Los Blancos have their eye on Erling Haaland, as well as Kylian Mbappe, although neither would come cheaply, with expected fees of over 100 million euros a stumbling block given the current uncertainty with COVID-19.
Mbappe only has a year and a half to run on his PSG contract and on Monday the club’s sporting director, Leonardo, said he hoped that both Mbappe and Neymar would stay, but recognised it had to be the players’ desire.
“I hope [Mbappe and Neymar] are convinced that PSG is a good place for a top-level ambitious player right now,” Leonardo told France Football.
“We won’t beg them… only those who really want to will stay.”
