Boxing Not Mayweather or Golovkin
Mexican boxer Canelo Alvarez wants to make history by becoming undisputed super middleweight champion as the next achievement in his career.
To do so, he’d need to beat Avni Yildrim on February 27 in his next fight before looking to the future.
The 30-year-old has been on the scene for 15 years now and points to one fight as having a particular importance.
“Without doubt, the most important was when I fought Miguel Cotto,” Alvarez told TUDN.
“When I beat Cotto, that was the most important.”
That fight in November 2015 helped him to win the world middleweight title.
He was later beaten by Floyd Mayweather in another high-profile clash.
