Real Madrid – La Liga Lucas or Nacho likely to fill in
Real Madrid kick off their Copa del Rey campaign against Alcoyano on Wednesday night, but they will be without Dani Carvajal, who missed training on Tuesday morning.
The right-back had recovered from the muscular problems that forced him to come off against Celta Vigo, even training with the group in the last few days, but this seems to be the latest injury issue for him this season.
Last October saw Carvajal damage his knee ligaments during a training session, causing him to miss eight matches, then he had a slight muscular injury that saw him miss the matches against Alaves and Sevilla, and then this latest muscle injury that saw him miss two games.
Alvaro Odriozola is unavailable for Zinedine Zidane at the moment, so Lucas Vazquez will either fill in at right-back once again or Nacho Fernandez will come into the side.
Tuesday’s training session also saw Zidane able to welcome back Raphael Varane to the group, while Victor Chust and Antonio Blanco both trained with the first team once again and could feature against Alcoyano.
