Ansu Fati reached another career milestone during Barcelona’s trip to Balaidos on Thursday night.

The teenage forward scored his 10th goal in LaLiga Santander, beating Celta Vigo goalkeeper Ivan Villar at his near post in the 11th minute.

This goal means that Ansu Fati has now scored as many as Bojan Krkic did for Barcelona before his 18th birthday, and he’s just one off the record.

Pablo Pombo Quintana scored 11 goals before the age of 18 during the 1933/34 season, which means Ansu Fati has until his 18th birthday – October 31 – to score two more to overtake him.

It’s over a year since Ansu Fati made his first-team debut for Barcelona, with Ernesto Valverde the coach to give him his senior bow.

Since then, the forward has become the youngest player to score for Barcelona in LaLiga, the youngest player to score in the Champions League and the youngest player to score for Spain’s senior side.

The 17-year-old has started both of Barcelona’s first two league games of the season under Ronald Koeman and has struck up a good relationship with Jordi Alba down the left wing.

Ansu Fati’s form over the past 12 months have seen the club move to tie him down to a longer contract and, when he is 18, he can sign a lengthy new deal at the Camp Nou.
