Once the Champions League draw was made and teams were put together, the next step in preparations is to set the dates for fixtures.

Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Sevilla now know when they will play each of their fixtures in the competition.

Real Madrid will begin the hunt for title number 14 against Shakhtar Donetsk at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu on October 21, while Barcelona get started against Ferencvaros the day before at Camp Nou.

The same day, Sevilla will kick off their campaign against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, while Atletico Madrid begin on the road on October 21 at the Allianz Arena against reigning champions Bayern Munich.

That same matchday also sees another clash of the giants as Paris Saint-Germain meet Manchester United in Paris on October 20.

The next matchday pitches Atletico against Salzburg and Real Madrid against Borussia Monchengladbach on October 27, while Barcelona travel to play Juventus and Sevilla welcome Stade Rennais on October 28.

Next up on November 3 is Lokomotiv Moscow vs Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid vs Inter, with Sevilla vs Krasnodar and Barcelona vs Dynamo Kiev on November 4, while a Champions League semi-final will also be repeated as Leipzig face PSG.

Matchday 4 on November 24 and 25 pitches Sevilla against Krasnodar, Barcelona up against Dynamo, Atletico face Lokomotiv and Real Madrid will again play Inter.

The penultimate fixtures on December 1 will see Bayern Munich travel to Madrid to face Atletico, while Real Madrid travel to Russia to face Shakhtar.

On December 2, Barcelona will do battle with Ferencvaros in Turkey and Sevilla play Chelsea, while PSG will also travel to Manchester for the return fixture.

In the final round, December 8 will see Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo reunited at Camp Nou as Barcelona play Juventus, while Sevilla go to France to play Stade Rennais.

On December 9, the group stage comes to a close with Salzburg vs Atletico Madrid and Borussia Monchengladbach vs Real Madrid.
