NBA NBA legend has his say
Charles Barkley, an all-time basketball great, has never been shy of voicing his opinion, however controversial, and has now suggested that NBA players should be prioritised for COVID-19 vaccines.
The 1993 MVP included players from the other major North American sports leagues as well and claimed they deserve it due to the taxes they pay.
“We need 300 million shots. Give some thousand to NBA players… NFL players, hockey players…” said Barkley.
“As much taxes as these players pay… let me repeat that: as much taxes as these players pay, they deserve some preferential treatment.”
The comments didn’t go down well with his fellow pundits on TNT, but he insisted with his opinion, even in a life-or-death scenario.

NBA commissioner Adam Silver recently said that the league would not attempt to “jump the line” in order to get vaccines earlier.
