MLS The Mexican forward opens up
Javier Hernandez‘s first season in Major League Soccer didn’t go as he would have hoped.
The LA Galaxy striker faced countless problems which affected his performances on the pitch.
“I hit rock bottom,” Chicharito confessed to the Los Angeles Times. “I lived through things that are normally lived through over five, 10 years.
“It’s not an excuse, it’s the reality. I didn’t take responsibility and I couldn’t handle it.
“When the season ended, I criticised myself. I decided that I have to and can do much better, on an emotional and spiritual level as well.
“I took full responsibility for what’s in my hands – my body, my mind, my emotions.”
Since joining LA Galaxy in January 2020, Hernandez has scored two goals in 12 games.
