Barcelona | Transfer Market Free agent this summer
With Lionel Messi‘s future up in the air and Sergio Aguero looking set to leave Manchester City this summer, Barcelona could move to make a deal to unite the Argentine duo at the Camp Nou next season.
Barcelona have seen their finances affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, like every club, and while they continue to seek ways to improve their squad, economic factors are a consideration.
Aguero is the latest name to be linked with the Blaugrana, this time by the Sun, and it seems increasingly likely that the 32-year-old will depart Manchester City when his contract comes to an end on June 30.
As well as being a top player with a great pedigree and knowledge of Spanish football, Aguero just so happens to be a close friend and compatriot of Messi.
Despite his injury problems, the former Atletico Madrid forward won’t be short of suitors if he chooses to leave City, with Paris Saint-Germain also strongly linked, but perhaps Barcelona have a bigger incentive than anyone to offer him a contract: potentially keeping Messi.
Aguero has scored 256 goals in 379 games for Manchester City, with four Premier League titles among the silverware he has won in England.
