Music Unveiled her new documentary
Demi Lovato has revealed that she had three strokes and a heart attack after a drug overdose in 2018, which caused her to almost lose her life.
The 28-year-old’s overdose was reportedly down to opioids laced with fentanyl, and it came a month after she revealed she had broken six years of sobriety.
“My doctors said that I had five to 10 more minutes,” Lovato reveals in her new documentary, ‘Dancing with the Devil’.
“[I was] left with brain damage and I still feel the effects of that.”
Lovato disclosed that these effects include blurry vision, which means she can’t drive and makes reading difficult.
Lovato, who is of Mexican descent, returned to the stage at last year’s Grammys after a stint in rehab following her aforementioned overdose in the summer of 2018, which is still taking its toll on her health.
The documentary also features Christina Aguilera and Elton John, with the latter pointing to the difficulties of becoming famous at a young age.
“Being young and famous, my God, it’s hard,” said Elton John in the trailer.
