It doesn’t matter if they get knocked out at the group stages, make it through to the knockout rounds, or even raise the trophy aloft after winning the final, every single fan is given memories and stories that they can – and will – relay for years to come.

In 90min’s brand new series ‘Faces of Football’, the stories and memories created by all 32 2022 FIFA World Cup nations will be documented.

With help from Goal Click, 90min have assembled a group of 32 football fanatics – one representing each nation – to tell the stories of how they’re supporting their respective nations, why they’re supporting their respective nations, and what their nation’s qualification means to them.

To tell the stories of the fandom, each of the 32 fans have written a letter to their national team, detailing their lives as fans and how the national team has shaped them – and sometimes even giving some shrewd tactical advice to their national team managers or providing some motivational words for the players.

From the man who designs flags for Argentina’s tifo, to a Japanese fan who will be in Qatar dressed up as Maya Yoshida, to an American couple who have a combined 257 USMNT games in 18 different countries over the last 20 years, the eclectic 32 Faces of Football tell diverse tales of their fandom through the years.

Here’s the 32 Faces of Football and who they’ll be representing this winter:
