Real Madrid – La Liga Despite being unable to travel
It’s not unusual for Florentino Perez to make his way into the dressing room after a Real Madrid match, but he couldn’t do so against Huesca, so he turned to Zinedine Zidane to deliver his message.
Perez is the latest member of the Real Madrid organisation to test positive for COVID-19, and has been forced to isolate.
After earning three points against Huesca, Perez spoke to Zidane after the match almost immediately.
Zidane had cut a frustrated figure in his pre-match press conference, although he made clear he felt the support of those in power at the club.
“We’re in the same boat and I feel supported,” Zidane explained.
“You have to accept that sometimes things will be difficult.
“When things are tough you have to turn the situation around, I know I have a great team, nothing is going to stop us from working hard.”
Los Blancos know that their season will be a difficult one from this point, they realise winning trophies isn’t a guarantee this term, but with Zidane receiving reassuring messages from Perez, the French coach now wants everyone to rally round and pull in the same direction.
