Gregg Berhalter names MLS-heavy USMNT roster for Bosnia & Herzegovina match

USMNT coach Gregg Berhalter has named a 26-man roster of predominantly MLS-based players for a training camp ahead of an international match against Bosnia & Herzegovina later this month.

There are a number of uncapped players in the group, including Cole Bassett, Caden Clark, Justin Che, Brooks Lennon and John Pulskamp, which will allow Berhalter to look at some new talents ahead of vital World Cup qualifiers next year.

Jordan Morris is back after recovering from an ACL injury, while uncapped 17-year-old goalkeeping sensation Gabriel Slonina has also been included despite being eligible for Poland and still unclear on his long-term international future.

It will imminently be the off-season in North America, with only the latter stages of the MLS Cup still to play, but established European-based players like Christian Pulisic, Zach Steffen, Sergino Dest, Weston McKennie, Yunus Musah, Tyler Adams and others are unavailable this month.

“It’s been a great year for the group and our objective is to finish the year with a strong performance against Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Berhalter said, via U.S. Soccer.

“As we look towards 2022, this camp gives us the opportunity to see some new faces and allows our core domestic players to maintain their fitness levels.”
