FC Barcelona – La Liga Scored a brace against Granada
Antoine Griezmann ended his seven-game goal drought with a brace in Barcelona’s 4-0 victory away at Granada and seems to have rediscovered his form.
Following a couple of LaLiga Santander games against Real Valladolid and Huesca that saw Martin Braithwaite featuring up front, the Frenchman has returned with one of his best performances this season.
Along with him, Lionel Messi has also put in some great displays following a below-par start to the 2020/21 campaign.
Ousmane Dembele and Pedri have also taken a step forward in the last few matches, but it was Griezmann who stood out at the Nuevo Estadio de Los Carmenes last Saturday.
Ronald Koeman‘s decision to shift from his established 4-2-3-1 formation to a 4-3-3 has paid dividends, as Barcelona looked dominant again on the pitch against Athletic Club and Granada.
Another player who has benefited from that change is Frenkie de Jong, who has been given more freedom to roam between lines and be more decisive.
Now, it only remains to be seen whether last Saturday’s brace will serve as a springboard for Griezmann to live up to the expectations created after his 100 million euro move from Atletico Madrid back in 2019.
