Bundesliga What he wants over five years
Erling Haaland is a name in the mouths and minds of those in charge of every elite club in Europe, and now they have a better idea of the numbers they’d have to make work in order to land the Norwegian star.
The Borussia Dortmund striker continues to impress his admirers, while some details have emerged about his salary demands if he departs the German club.
The Daily Star report that Haaland wants his next contract to earn him 90 million euros over five years
That’s the basic deal that any club would have to agree with Haaland and his agent, Mino Raiola, if they can convince Dortmund to part with their talismanic striker.
It’s a steep figure, but this is a player tipped to go to the very top and whose numbers at the top level are already astonishing, with 43 goals in 43 Bundesliga matches.
Haaland has reached that tally with just 71 attempts on goal, revealing his ruthless efficiency.
It’s less certain what figure Dortmund would be looking for to agree to a sale. It is believed that the 20-year-old’s contract has a release clause of 80 million euros, although that won’t become active until the summer of 2022.
It’s possible that by then, if Haaland is still at Dortmund, that fee might look like a bargain for the young marksman.
