Formula 1 Ex-McLaren mechanic offers his opinion

Hamilton's contract negotiations stall: There's definitely something not right

The delay in announcing Lewis Hamilton‘s new Mercedes contract has caused much debate in the F1 world, and the latest to give their opinion is ex-McLaren mechanic Marc Priestley.

Speaking on his popular videoblog on YouTube, Priestley said that he feels that something isn’t quite right.

“I don’t think there’s any panic between Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton, but I definitely think there are a few difficult points in the negotiations,” said Priestley.

“I’m not one of those people who believes the internet rumours that someone wants a couple more zeros added to their salary or a free car. How the hell could anyone know that?

“These are private negotiations, unless someone has specifically leaked it, which I find hard to believe.

“I hope that they sort it out, but something is definitely off and there are definitely things that they’ve found it difficult to agree on.”
