Formula 1 All that’s missing is official confirmation
Lewis Hamilton’s renewal with Mercedes is yet to be signed, but his extension is though to be all but confirmed now.
It is believed that everything is now in place for Hamilton to continue with Mercedes, and that only official confirmation of his renewal is missing.
German media have reported that the Brit will earn 40 million euros a year, despite having initially requested as much as 70 million euros annually.
His current deal sees him earn 39 million euros, making him the best paid driver in Formula 1.
There isn’t thought to be an agreement in place that would allow the driver to veto any potential signings to compete with him at Mercedes.
