Supercopa de Espana | Real Madrid Belgian aims to star in Supercopa
Real Madrid are in Andalusia this week for the Supercopa de Espana and one man particularly hoping to shine is Eden Hazard.
The Belgian winger started against Osasuna on Saturday for the first time since his return from injury and the plan was always to have him raring to go for the Supercopa.
Before last weekend’s match in Pamplona, Hazard had played just 29 minutes in the three games he was available for as Zinedine Zidane carefully managed his return.
Hazard, like most of his teammates, was underwhelming in Navarre, lacking ideas and perhaps showing the signs of a player whose season has been plagued by injuries.
The 30-year-old is sure to start again at La Rosaleda on Thursday night, however, as he looks to make up for lost time after missing last season’s Supercopa in Jeddah through injury.
With another match under his belt and away from the tough conditions encountered in Pamplona, the semi-final against Athletic Club could be the perfect stage for Hazard to finally show the best of himself in a Real Madrid shirt.
