UFC Was due to fight in March
Mexican UFC fighter Irwin Rivera has been arrested for allegedly stabbing his two sisters.
Rivera is being held without bail on charges of first-degree murder following the incident on Thursday morning.
According to the Boynton Beach police report, the fighter claimed to have received a message from a “higher being” and said that killing his sisters was his purpose.
Rivera confessed that he “entered their room while they were sleeping and began stabbing them with a bronze knife”.
Police found one of his sisters (22) lying on the street with stab wounds in her back, head, and arm. She then informed the officers that her brother had stabbed her and that he was still in the house with the other sister.
Upon entering the house, the police found a 33-year-old woman with similar stab wounds.
Rivera made his UFC debut in May 2020 and was preparing to fight Ray Rodriguez in March, though that fight has already been suspended.
