NBA Possibly the reason why Westbrook left
It seems that James Harden can’t escape controversy, even after finally getting his move out of Houston, with suggestions that his party lifestyle was the start of the Rockets‘ downfall.
Former player Kendrick Perkins, an NBA champion with the Boston Celtics in 2008, has alleged that Harden‘s partying drove fellow All-Star Russell Westbrook out of the franchise.
“[If they had some days off], James was on a private [jet] to Cabo! On [owner] Tilman Fertitta‘s private [jet] at that! Russ is like, ‘I ain’t with all the partying,'” said Perkins.
.@KendrickPerkins says James Hardens partying led to Russell Westbrooks trade request.

Perkins, speaking to podcast host James Posey, a teammate on that 2008 Celtics team, reminded listeners that the Rockets didn’t want to lose Westbrook, but the former Oklahoma City Thunder guard requested a trade.
His comments also corroborate the account of an anonymous former Rockets employee before the start of the season, who spoke about Harden‘s partying and the fact that the team would, at his request, stay an extra night in his favourite cities.
The ESPN report even claimed that ‘The Beard’ was allowed days off for trips to places such as Las Vegas.
