According to a recent report from Tuttosport, Juventus are ready to make an approach to try and sign Aymeric Laporte from Manchester City.
Laporte has been an important member of the first team at the Etihad since arriving back in 2018, but with John Stones and Ruben Dias forming a solid partnership in defence, many believe the time has come for Laporte to explore his options elsewhere.
Pep Guardiola is building a squad that is quite clearly capable of making serious noise both domestically and in Europe, and if he wants to maximise the squad in the best way possible, then depth needs to be a key part of his plan moving forward.
Alas, someone like Laporte is clearly capable of doing much more than just being a back-up defender, and Juventus are seemingly happy to provide him with first team opportunities.
The loan idea, though, could signal that Guardiola isn’t willing to give up on him just yet.
