Footage has emerged of Kylian Mbappe appearing to tell Jordi Alba he would ‘kill him in the street’ during PSG’s 4-1 victory over Barcelona in the Champions League last 16 on Tuesday evening.
Mbappe was the star of the show as he netted a Camp Nou hat-trick to give his side a comfortable three-goal cushion heading into the second leg at Parc des Princes on 10 March.
In addition to his goalscoring antics, the young forward also engaged in a heated conversation with Alba.
“You are getting too big for your boots,” the Barcelona full back can be seen saying in Spanish (via the Mirror) as he points at Mbappe and is held back by Moise Kean. Sergino Dest can also be seen attempting to keep the pair apart.
Mbappe then responds twice with: “In the street, I’ll kill you.”
Gerard Pique then gets involved, asking: “Who are you going to kill? Who are you going to kill?”
Before Alba chips in again with: “Look what this guy is learning.”
The confrontation was largely overshadowed by Mbappe’s stunning individual performance, as he clinically netted in the 32nd, 65th and 85th minutes to leave PSG with one foot in the Champions League quarter finals.
The France international’s third was the pick of the bunch, as he sent a curling first time effort into the top corner to complete a flowing PSG counter attack.
Mbappe‘s contract with last season’s beaten Champions League finalists expires in the summer of 2022 and he has been linked with a move to a selection of the biggest sides in Europe. The forward addressed his future at full time, insisting he is happy with the French champions.
“You have to let [speculation go],” Mbappe said. “I don’t listen to what people say. It’s a long-term reflection, not a game or two. I always said I was happy here, and with this kind of game I’m even happier.”
