Kylian Mbappe offered huge contract extension by PSG

Paris Saint-Germain have offered Kylian Mbappe an extraordinary new contract in order to fend off interest from Real Madrid.

The French forward’s current deal at PSG runs out in June, and it is widely expected that he will move to Real on a free transfer in the summer.

However, as reported by Le Parisien, PSG are not willing to give up hope of tying down Mbappe for a few more years. The club are now ‘confident’ that their star man will accept their most recent contract offer because, well, they’ve offered him all of the money.

PSG’s latest offer is said to be worth €50m per year, with a bonus of €100m on top just for signing the extension, and would run until 2024.

90min understands that PSG won’t – and never will – give up on Mbappe, but Los Blancos are confident that he will stick to his decision to head to the Santiago Bernabeu when his current deal expires.

Currently, PSG expect that Real Madrid could announce something regarding the World Cup winner after their Champions League last 16 second leg clash on 9 March.

Speaking after the first instalment between the two giants – in which Mbappe was the hero – the French forward was inevitably asked about the rumours linking him with a free transfer to Los Blancos in the summer.

“I wanted to concentrate on football as I said to your colleagues,” he said. “There are a lot of things being said, everyone knows everything and people talk for the sake of it.

“But I’m really just focused on helping my team – I said it a couple of weeks ago in an interview – and I showed it today.”
