NBA Apparently he “just didn’t want to play”
The Brooklyn Nets started the NBA season on fire, with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving driving them on.
But Irving missed the Nets‘ win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday. His absence was put down to personal reasons, but coach Steve Nash said shortly before and after the game started that he didn’t know what those reasons were.
Reports suggested that Irving was upset by the events in Washington D.C., but journalist Brandon Robinson has said that Irving contacted Nash to tell him that he “just didn’t want to play”.
Kevin Durant is set to return for the Nets though, having had to quarantine due to being a close contact of someone with the coronavirus.
