Coronavirus Vaccination is key
Anthony Fauci is one of the United States’ greatest epidemiologists, and he has dared to set a date for the end of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
First, though, he has wanted that some very troubling times lie ahead, like this difficult January being faced around the world.
“As we move into the next few weeks, it’s likely that we’ll see the results of Christmas trips and the social gatherings from that period,” Fauci told NPR. “Things will get worse as we move through January, unfortunately.
“We really need people to pay very close attention to the public health measures that are always spoken about. Now is not the time to back down.”
Fauci is optimistic about what is to come in April, though, at least in the USA.
“I think by the end of summer, if we get 70 to 85 percent of the population vaccinated and good herd immunity, we could get closer to some form of normality by the autumn,” he said.
