Leeds United are considering a summer transfer bid for Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Adama Traore, who is keen to leave Molineux ahead of the new season.
Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa is a huge fan of the Spanish international winger, and has been for some time, believing he could blossom in his system at Elland Road. 90min first reported on Leeds’ interest in the player in December 2020.
Orta spoke with Wolves in January as it became known that Traore was unsettled and was looking for an exit route after refusing to extend his contract.
No deal could be agreed, with Leeds at the time preferring a loan deal. Wolves are now ready to listen to offers though, with just two years left on Traore’s current deal and chances of the extension looking unlikely.

Wolverhampton Wanderers star Raul Jimenez has returned to the starting lineup for the first time since suffering his nasty head injury in November 2020
Wolves paid Middlesbrough less than £20m to sign him in 2018 and will be hoping for a substantial profit on that investment. No future fee will be owed to former club Boro as Wolves paid out his release clause at the time of purchase.
Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea have all kept close tabs on Traore, but Leeds are very much at the head of the queue as it stands.
Traore’s relationship with Orta, who plucked him from a miserable time at Villa to take him to Boro, and his desire to work with Marcelo Bielsa could very well sway the deal in their favour.
