According to Football Insider, Leeds United have identified Rangers manager Steven Gerrard as a potential successor to Marcelo Bielsa. Bielsa has been in charge of Leeds since the summer of 2018 and is out of contract at the West Yorkshire outfit in the summer of 2021.
Bielsa guided Leeds to automatic promotion from the Championship to the Premier League at the end of last season. The Argentine signed a new contract with the Whites in September, but it was only for a year, and it remains to be seen if he decides to stay on at Elland Road after the 2020-21 campaign ends.
Should Bielsa decide to leave Leeds, then the Whites’ chiefs will make a move for Gerrard. The Liverpool legend was appointed as the Rangers manager in the summer of 2018 and is aiming to guide the Gers to the Scottish Premiership title this season and stop bitter Old Firm rivals Celtic from making it 10 league titles in a row.
