Mars Accompanied by ‘Ingenuity’
NASA‘s Perseverance rover is set on land to Mars where its main task will be to explore the planet in search of signs about its past.
The Mars 2020 Mission will bring a group of vehicles, equipped with highly sophisticated equipment, to the Red Planet.
Perseverance is a three-metre long vehicle of about the size of a small minivan, which weighs around a ton, and its mission is to discover whether the plant was ever habitable.
It’s the largest device ever sent to Mars and is accompanied by a drone helicopter named ‘Ingenuity’, which will be the first human vehicle to fly over another planet.
When the precise height is reached, a parachute will unfold, its lower part detaching and the upper part remaining attached to Perseverance and accompany it to the surface.
The chosen place for landing, the Jezero crater, which offers the best conditions to fulfil the objectives of the mission.
