Marcos Llorente has revealed that he fasts before going to training.

The Atletico Madrid midfielder spoke about the reasons for this practice and the benefits he has found through his experience.

“I feel very good in terms of my energy and I do not need to have breakfast before going to train,” he told Carlos Perez, co-founder of Regenera.

“I am able to move [well] without having eaten anything.

“In fact, when I was eating breakfast before going to train, I was doing it without my body asking for it.

“Since I started listening to my body, the improvement in my performance has been very good.”

Llorente said that he began fasting before training while he was on loan at Alaves.

“My father was practicing it, but I still did not believe much in it,” he said.

“It was not hard to make this change, because on a lot of days, I did not feel like eating when I woke up.

“I did not notice anything in terms of the level of intensity with the team, and so I carried on doing it.”

During the conversation, Carlos Perez, also the co-author of ‘The Intermittent Fast’, explained its benefits.

“There is scientific evidence that intermittent fasting, personalised to each situation and person, improves the immune system, and therefore, has a very positive consequence on elite sportsmen like Marcos,” he said.

Marcos Llorente has been a client of Regenera Elite for a year and a half, and he pointed out the impact of their work on his performance.

“I am sure that in everything that has happened to me over the past year, Regenera takes some of the credit,” he smiled.
