Malmo vs Granada | Europa League Qualified for Europa League group stages
Granada will play in the Europa League group stages for the first time in their history after beating Malmo 3-1 in the final qualifying round.
Darwin Machis and Jo Inge Berget exchanged goals in the first half as the two teams went into the break on level terms in Sweden.
Antonio Puertas put the visitors in front in the one-legged tie, pouncing on Carlos Neva’s cross into the box on the hour mark.
With five minutes remaining, Yangel Herrera secured Granada’s place in the group stage, meeting Alvaro Montoro’s free-kick at the back post.
The result means Diego Martinez’s side have come through multiple rounds of qualifying to play in a European competition for the first time in the club’s history.
The Andalusian side qualified for the Europa League with a seventh-place finish in LaLiga Santander last season.
Now, Granada can sit back and watch the group stage draw, which takes place on Friday.
