Marcus Rashford’s scoring form highlighted by key Man Utd stat

Marcus Rashford continued his remarkable scoring form on Tuesday when he came off the bench to score a late brace in Manchester United’s 3-0 win against Charlton in the Carabao Cup.

The England international has bounced back from a subpar 2021/22 season in some style, taking his tally to 15 goals in 25 games this term – already three times the number he registered last campaign.

Rashford’s double against Charlton marked the eighth successive home game in which he’s grabbed a goal for United, becoming the first player to do so since club-record scorer Wayne Rooney in 2010.

The last home game that Rashford drew a blank was United’s 2-0 win over Tottenham back in October – a match in which the forward put in a superb all-round display.

Rashford’s only other blanks at home this season have come against Newcastle, Omonia Nicosia and Brighton. He notably scored in their win against Liverpool, while he grabbed two goals and an assist in a victory over league leaders Arsenal.

The 25-year-old will be looking to continue his fine scoring form when rivals Manchester City visit Old Trafford on Saturday. United can move to within four points of their neighbours with a victory.
