UFC Hawaiian impressive in Yas Island
Max Holloway convincingly beat Calvin Kattar in the headline fight of UFC Fight Island 7 with the judges awarding him a clear victory.
Holloway got going early on, finding the range to land blows on Kattar and showed his credentials with impressive combinations of up to six consecutive hits.
The 29-year-old from Hawaii kept the intensity up throughout, using his elbows to good effect as well.
Kattar did well in the third round, landing some headshots, but it wasn’t enough and he couldn’t keep up with Holloway.
In the second headlining fight on the main card, Carlos Condit overcame Matt Brown by unanimous decision in the last event of his current contract.
UFC returns on Wednesday with a card headlined by Neil Magny against Michael Chiesa.
