Premier League Whilst on international duty with Egypt
The Egyptian Football Federation have confirmed that Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has tested positive for COVID-19.
The 28-year-old is now isolating, although he is not displaying any symptoms.
Salah was set to play in Egypt’s qualifying matches for the 2022 African Cup of Nations, with the Pharaohs set to take on Togo in back-to-back matches.
The rest of Salah’s Egypt teammates have tested negative for the virus, the Federation have reported.
As a consequence of this positive test, Salah will unlikely be available for Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp for his side’s match against Leicester City once the international break comes to an end.
