Australian Open Greek player advances
Rafael Nadal appeared to be coasting to victory against Stefanos Tsitsipas when the Greek player turned around a two-set deficit to knock out the Spaniard in five.
Tsitsipas advances to the semi-finals of the Australian Open, where he will face Daniil Medvedev, while Nadal‘s dream of a 21st Grand Slam title will have to wait until Roland Garros.
Nadal‘s exit from the tournament at the hands of fifth-seeded Tsitsipas means that he hasn’t beaten a top 10 player in Melbourne since Milos Raonic (No.3) in 2017.
The winner of Tsitsipas and Medvedev will face the victor between Novak Djokovic and Aslan Karatsev in the final.

What is rarer, however, was the manner of the 22-year-old’s victory, as only two players have managed such a comeback against Nadal – Roger Federer in Miami in 2005 and Fabio Fognini in the US Open in 2015.
