Netherlands v Bosnia-Herzegovina Live Commentary & Result, 15/11/2020, UEFA Nations League

This week the Bosnia-Herzegovina squad has been badly disrupted due to a number of positive COVID-19 tests and as a result manager Dusan Bajevic is without many of his star players – including captain and top scorer Edin Dzeko. Despite playing just 77 minutes of action for new side Barcelona, Pjanic starts this evening and captains his country in midfield whilst Arsenal’s Kolasinac takes his regular place at left-back.

Netherlands boss Frank de Boer is forced into changes due to recent injury concerns. Manchester City’s Nathan Ake was injured in his side’s match versus Spain in mid-week and has dropped out of the squad. Spurs midfielder Steven Bergwijn and number one goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen also miss out through injury. Krul comes in between the sticks whilst De Vrij and Blind start at centre back tonight. Dumfries enters at right back but Manchester United’s van de Beek drops to the bench.

BOSNIA-HERZEGOVINA SUBS: Adi Adilovic, Kenan Piric, Advan Kadusic, Darko Todorovic, Benjamin Tatar, Smail Prevljak, Vladan Danilovic, Amar Rahmanovic, Adnan Kovacevic, Irfan Hadzic, Stjepan Loncar, Almedin Ziljkic.

BOSNIA-HERZEGOVINA (4-3-3): Ibrahim Sehic; Branimir Cipetic, Amir Hadziahmetovic, Sinisa Sanicanin, Sead Kolasinac; Gojko Cimirot, Miralem Pjanic, Rade Krunic; Edin Visca, Armin Hodzic, Amer Gojak.

NETHERLANDS SUBS: Marco Bizot, Joel Drommel, Hans Hateboer, Joel Veltman, Sven Botman, Patrick van Aanholt, Ryan Babel, Quincy Promes, Ryan Gravenberch, Calvin Stengs, Donyell Malen, Donny van de Beek.

NETHERLANDS (4-3-3): Tim Krul; Denzel Dumfries, Stefan de Vrij, Daley Blind, Owen Wijndal; Davy Klaassen, Georginio Wijnaldum, Frenkie de Jong; Steven Berghuis, Luuk De Jong, Memphis Depay.

Both sides come into this crucial Nations League Group A1 clash in similar recent form. Netherlands haven’t won in their last five international matches whilst Bosnia-Herzegovina haven’t seen victory in the last year across all competitions. The two sides last met back in October where both came away relatively happy with a point after a 0-0 draw in the Bosnian city of Zenica.
