Champions League Often targeted
Neymar will miss the first leg of Paris Saint-Germain‘s Champions League last-16 tie against Barcelona after suffering a tear in his adductor muscle, and this is just the latest knockout match in Europe that the Brazilian has been unavailable for.
Some have spoken about Neymar having a curse in the Champions League, as he has often been out injured for the first knockout round. In his first couple of years in Paris, this was certainly the case and it looks set to replicate itself again.
In fact, it is not guaranteed that Neymar will be back in time to face Barcelona in the second leg at the Parc des Princes on March 10, although it would be a surprise if he didn’t feature, assuming he has no setbacks.
The 29-year-old is one of the most fouled players in Europe’s top five leagues, and this no doubt plays a part in his injury history.
