Market: Nottingham Forest win
Odds: 11/8 @ 888sport
Looking to build on their recent purple patch, a resurging Nottingham Forest will host a struggling Middlesbrough on Wednesday night.
Starting with the hosts, while Nottingham Forest might have initially struggled to find their feet under new boss Chris Hughton, the Reds are certainly enjoying a real resurge. Along with booking their spot in the fourth-round of this year’s FA Cup thanks to a 1-0 win against Cardiff earlier in the month, the former Brighton boss saw his side put in another eye-catching display over the weekend. Really managing to find a route away from the drop zone and enjoying by far their brightest run of the season so far, fans around the City Ground saw their side land a 3-1 romp at home against Millwall on Saturday afternoon. Winning each of their last three matchups across all formats and unbeaten since December 12th, Forest will be confident of cashing in on Wednesday night.
As for the visitors, while Forest might be enjoying a real bounce, Middlesbrough are a side who are desperate to refind some stability. While they might have really caught the eye after bringing in veteran boss Neil Warnock last summer, Boro put in what was another sluggish display over the weekend. Missing out on a golden chance to break into the play-off spots, the former Cardiff manager saw his side suffer a shock 1-0 loss at home against a struggling Birmingham. Along with crashing out of the FA Cup earlier in the month thanks to a 2-1 defeat away at Brentford, the midweek guests have now lost three of their last four matchups across all competitions. Given Forest’s remarkable purple patch since opening 2021, we’re backing another tough night for Boro.
